I Left JAMB Better Than I met It – Prof Ojerinde

The immediate past
Registrar of the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu
Ojerinde, has stated that he left the Board better than he met it within the
nine years he was in charge.

He disclosed this during a dinner organized to honor
him in Abuja.

According to him, his achievements could only be
built upon by the new JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.

He urged the management of the board to continue
to work towards keeping the philosophy on which JAMB was established.

“I feel good that I am leaving JAMB better than we
all met it that time. I am sure the person who has come to takeover is going to
be as good if not better than I am.

“I have done everything I wanted to do. There is
no other thing I want to do and that is why God says it is time for me to
leave. That is it. No more.” He said

He dispelled the rumors that he was sacked due to
the 2016 admission list that was later retrieved; stating that he was not the
only one that was sacked so it does not make sense for anyone to say he was
sacked because of that.

On the issue of reverting to Paper and Pencil
Test, Ojerinde said that it would be tantamount to taking one step forward and
two steps backwards.

“May God forbid going backwards. We will move
forward. In fact they should go multimedia and I think the present person will
do it. He stated
